This is not me.  It’s Mr. MouseEars’ Disney-wife, Pocahontas.  Now, help me find Jack Sparrow!

Magical Mouse Schoolhouse

Time to shake off the “Return from Disney” Blues compounded by more than my usual share of family stress and get back on that coaster!!  IT’S BLOG TIME, BABY!

My 10-day trip to Walt Disney World from August 19-28 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge was fantabulous :)  The definition of FANTABULOUS:  fantastic and fabulous.  This was The MouseEars Family’s eighth (my ninth) and longest trip to date.  Every minute was wonderful.  Though we definitely had a couple of minor moments that in hindsight, I’d do a bit different.  But I know I’ll be able to fix that stuff on the next trip!

One of the things we played with this time was staying in the Hyatt Regency inside MCO in order to take advantage of low pricing on flights in and out of Orlando.  Now, originally we intended to drive.  Then, rockbottom pricing on Southwest Airlines got us to thinking that flying was the better option.  I also scored two free nights at the Hyatt via our bank rewards.  The Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport is an amazing hotel that is clearly there to serve travelers heading in and traveling out of the Orlando area.  It is  located in the center of the main terminal.  It is a beautiful, modern hotel.  Staff were extremely accomodating, our hotel rooms were spotless and the food was excellent.  Upon arrival, we were greeted by bell services and check-in was seamless.  The reason we stayed the night before our Disney reservation was so we didn’t “waste” an entire day at Disney with our late arrival and pay much more for our room to boot.  However, in the end…this was not something we would do again.  Saving the room money was not worth sacrificing the excitement upon arrival and heading straight to the Magical Express.  Of course, the next morning we were very excited…but it was missing a tiny something special.  Also, between dinner and shopping in the airport, we didn’t save much money at all.  In fact, we probably spent more!!  Oy vey.

A “crack of dawn” departure out of MCO with a night before stay at the Hyatt at the end of our trip was a dream come true!  We had a full Disney day then hopped on the Magical Express with no stress about our departure.  We were lucky enough to be dropped off at the motor court of the hotel and greeted again, by amazing bell services.  Check in was a breeze.  Then, the next morning we rolled out of bed at a human hour and bell services escorted us to the airline check-in desk helping bypass the lines with some terrific tips.  It was sheer perfection!

Here’s a couple of shots from the hotel:

Welcome Disney Blog Hoppers and yet again, another great topic today provided by our friends at Babes in Disneyland: Inspiration! What is it that inspires me to blog? The desperate need for “me” time! A writer by nature, I really missed not having an outlet for my written thoughts. Once I start writing, I go into a “zone”. Not always the best when the dogs are barking, kids are arguing and the mailman is knocking on the door! Though if I get the chance to write late at night….it’s mmmmm mmmmm good :) But then again, so is sleep. Aaah well, you can’t have everything!!

Still visiting my happy place right now. Tune in soon for loads of pics and reports from my latest trip to the one and only, Walt Disney World!

Welcome Disney Blog Hoppers and thanks to Babes in Disneyland for another thought provoking topic: Why do we love Disney?? And what an appropriate topic for me today since I am enroute to my happy place…Walt Disney World!! I love Disney in all shapes and forms from theme parks, to movies, to gear, etc.
For this moment though, I’m going to focus on Walt Disney World. I love it because every time I step through the gate, I can feel the magic, taste the magic…be the magic. I can leave the ups and downs of life behind and focus on my children, my husband, myself. I can pretend, laugh out loud, cry with joy, sing and dance…all in the name of the mouse! So why do I love Disney? I. just. do.

So keep an eye on the blog for me. I promise I will see you all real soon :)

Thanks to Babes in Disneyland for today’s Disney Blog Hop theme: “Shine a Spotlight”. Earlier this week I had a post titled, Disneyglamarama. I intended to expand the “subject” by featuring some of the amazing Princess Makeup Tutorials you can find on Youtube (perfect for Halloween, costume parties, or a fun trip to the supermarket…lol!) That’s when I found this Rapunzel how-to video with a very special message at the end. Michelle Phan is a video blogger who is using her artistic talent to help promote a worthy cause, The Rapunzel Project. The goal of this organization is to help cancer patients keep their hair during chemotherapy treatments using something called “cold cap therapy”. In turn, I hope that perhaps someone out there in the blogosphere reading this can use the info for someone they love.

If you’ve spent any time in the New York metro area, you are familiar with the “New York” stereotypes. Especially, if you are from Laaaaaawng I-land. I’ve successfully bucked most of the typical LI kind of stuff. Except I am a teensy weeensy bit high maintenance. I like nice things.  I also enjoy stuff that has to do with makeup, hair and nails. Which is how I came across some fabulous stuff on Youtube…Disney Nails!

Yes, you too can become your very own Disney nail tech by searching for Mickey designs, Minnie designs, Pooh designs and all the rest. Use your imagination and search baby search! Then kick back, watch the vid, break out the polish and get painting. There’s also plenty of other cool stuff to keep you sidetracked :)

Here’s an example of some of the fun you can find:

Now I know this won’t hold much appeal to the guys out there.  Unless, it’s time to explore your more feminine side.
