It’s Blog Hop Thursday! Welcome to all my fellow Blog Hoppers and thanks to Babes in Disneyland for another great topic…Disney Decor/Decorating!! I had a post planned out about the amazing decor at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. (In one word…go! It’s a Halloween dream.) Then, I figured there are probably loads of you out there in the blogosphere who’ve been there way more than me 🙂 And when I really thought about decor and Walt Disney World, the thing that gets me the most excited is Asia at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Travel along with me and I’ll show you some amazing things!
Is this the Double Dutch Bus? Because if it is, I’m getting on!!
Ha! No, unfortunately it’s a food stand – serves ice cream…I think. Which on second thought is also good by me 🙂 But look at the incredible detail! Those are not just painted on designs. Those are embellishments, too. The colors are spectacular! This is just a small example of the exciting things you find in the the detail of the decor. All to create this fantastic atmosphere, transporting you to an amazing place.
My DS was adopted from Siberia, in a city called Ulan-Ude. Ulan-Ude is approximately 2 hours north of the Mongolian border. So, I have actually travelled to a very remote part of Asia. Many of the items they incorporate into the Asia section are truly authentic.
This scene is so unbelievable. Not that we had Everest in the background of the shots on our trip, but seeing the Buddhist prayer flags draped amongst the trees is absolutely the real deal! And look at these signs…every one appears to have been here a good long time. Artfully etched with marks and rust, its incredible.
Now, I know that many of you attack the Asia section with one mission only – to conquer Expedition Everest! Next time, plan a bit of extra time in your visit to really take a look around. Remember, it’s not just about the ride…getting there is half the fun.
